So, when you stop dating someone you actually cared about, it's tough. It's especially tough when you build some sort of expectations (yes, Solis- I know this should never be done) but it happens and you build things up so high sometimes that all that can happen is failure. But how you handle that failure, the grace you carry yourself with after, really identifies the type of person you are ... and let's face it, it also settles the age old question of who wins.
Yes, as in who wins the
competition of 'being better off'.
At the end of a cycle of "dating or relationship" I have always found that the younger one's are always in a race, a race to one up their former partners as if to say see who win's the upper hand. I have never been one to partake in this but in this most recent situation, I really just couldn't help the fact that all the pieces were falling into place without me even trying. So by nature, I just went along with ... Who comes out better? Nobody really, because it's immature. But all in all, the feeling of victory is there and well, you can't help but have a little joy in your gut about it.
Long Story Short: I successfully went to an X's bday party by myself feeling and looking good, being polite to him and his friends, flirting with others (which ended up being one of his co workers. Oops!) and made it a point not to be that awkward X at the party. By doing all of these thing's I was able to naturally win the
"better off battle" by making him loose just a little pride went he realized I was the best thing he will never have. Booyakashaw!
First test by nature is: Who didn't end up crazy.
point goes to:
Kamelia *I was sane, not jealous and very openly friendly. The X on the other hand threw a shit fit and told a mutual friend how disappointed he was I was talking to other guys ... especially when one ended up being his co worker. Eeek!
*
note to reader, be very careful: Fatal Attraction was surely based off of someones crazy x girlfriend. Just hope your not the one which end's up curled up in fetal position while clinging to your x's Sunday game day tshirt which hasn't been washed in weeks.
Test two: Who is better of professionally
point goes to:
Kamelia *X's bday party also ended up being a pink slip party ... as he got laid off earlier in the day. ouch.
Test three: Who is in a better place, romantically.
point goes:
Toss Up*Although it is known to the X that Kamelia was dating someone for the past two months (no longer dating, story to come soon), The X was surrounded by a ton of hot girls. It was his bday ... you swear the hoochie bang bangs weren't going to be making appearances.

and finally
Test four: who ended up with no regrets.
point goes to:
Kamelia
*After one too many, X ended up confessing to another acquaintance he missed his chance with lil ol' Kami and regretted f'ing up the situation. That is solid gold defeat right there ladies and gent's! take note!
Well, let me just say that all though I didn't exactly plan it to happen, I def got the upper hand this weekend and won the battle.
Final Winner:
Kamelia!
