Tim Burton Art Exhibit at LACMA May 29-Oct 31, 2011

Calling all Tim Burton fans: the visionary artist, director and evil genius (with MAJOR emphasis on evil) who helped define the gothic film genre will be unveiling a large collection of his artwork this May at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Known for his dark, twisted classic films such as Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, and The Nightmare Before Christmas (my personal fave), Tim Burton will be displaying over 700 individual pieces of art, including paintings, storyboards, costumes, film and video, photographs, puppets and more. The art featured in the exhibit comes from Burton's own private archive, as well as from the studio archives. While the show will feature many pieces from his well-known films, visitors will also get a chance to see original drawings, sculptures and other works he has created throughout his career.

The exhibit is scheduled to run from May 29th to October 31st, 2011. Whether you are a die-hard Burton fan, or just have an appreciation for art that thrills you, chills you, and goes "bump in the night", this is definitely an event you won't want to miss!

Pass the Crumpets Fool! Mr. T Tea Set

Now this is what I'm talking about, some Mr. T tea pot and cup. Now THAT'S clever. This is a design by Lennymud. For some reason I picture the many characters of Mr. T endorsing this on a late night infomercial. Clubber Lang in some boxing gloves saying "My prediction.... teaaaa", B.A. Baracus: "Tea so good it'll make you wanna slap yo everybody."

If you're wondering how much then you're in luck. This nifty doo-dad which is a tea pot resting upon a tea cup is around $34

Fail! PlayStation Network Admits Your Personal Data Has Been Stolen

If there wasn't enough identity theft to worry about the Sony PlayStation Network just fessed up the their "External Intrusion" where a hacker ended up jacking Sony for everyones information which forced Sony to completely shut down their PlayStation Network service resulting in many, many unhappy campers.

Here's a list of what was taken:
  • Your name
  • Your address (city, state, and zip)
  • Country
  • E-mail address
  • Birthday
  • PSN password and login name
How do you think PlayStation responded to all this? With a typical PR response.

"It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have been obtained,"
Sony also said While the company claims that there is "no evidence" that credit card information has been compromised, it won't rule out the possibility."

Long story short, your Credit card info "May or may not" have been stolen. A big sucker punch to the gut for those that use the same password for everything. The do have a list of recommendations for you. one being to watch any and all accounts for any changes in them. I.E> Phone bills, bank statements, mail Freud because Sony says they wont contact you for any personal information.

Sony does say they are sorry for the inconvenience and that there is no update as to when they are going to decide to bring the system back. Hit the link below to get info on Freud protection to prevent identity theft that was given by Sony.

Linkin Park and Transformers 3 New Movie Single

Linkin Park is set to do a Third single for the new Transformers movie "The Dark Side Of The Moon". For those of you who haven't been keeping track; here's a list of the tracks used in prior and current Transformers movies.

Transformers: What I've Done
Transformers: "Revenge Of the Fallen" : New Divide
Transformers: "The Dark Side Of The Moon": Iridescent

I dig the use of the LP tracks. For some reason they mesh very well for the Transformers franchise. Here's a video explaining some of the process on how Linkin Park and the movies score composer Steve Jablonsky make it all work.

Dopeness: "Cream of the Crop" Mural for LA Freewalls

This right here is one of the main reasons I love Cali. The detail to this piece is crazy, I keep looking at it and find new things every time.

This awesome piece of work was created by "How & Nosm" with contribution by "Dabs Myla" in Downtown Los Angeles. What's dope about this is that the mural is apart of 40 murals that have been populating the Downtown L.A. Environment that's been curated and produced by "Jet Set Graffitti" for the LA Firewalls project.

Architecture Heaven

A little random for me- but I just couldn't stop myself from posting ....

Sometimes I love Yahoo, because if it wasn't for my opening page I would have never ran across this article on this fabulous structure. This is the Metro Parasol in Ceville Spain which is newly built and listed as the worlds tallest wooden structure and largest structure held together by glue. Crazy right??

Well it is taking the place of what was supposed to be a parking structure and now houses a museum, shops and farmers market. Best part?? The roof is open to the public which gives amazing views of the city. Seriously is going to have to be one of my stops next time I head to Spain.

Happy Friday Everyone!

Fight Scene Starring Camilla Lim - Directed by Jeff "Echo" Reyes

Happy Friday cheeky pals! Do I have a treat for you. Check me out getting my butt kicked by Camilla Doyeom Lim in a scene directed by Jeff "Echo" Reyes. The Project is created by Camilla Doyeom Lim and features Robert Kugler with Les Brooks, Chris Robinson, Mauricio and Tony Orozco. We had a great time creating this for you on the mean industrial streets of Los Angeles. We even had a friendly visit from our very own L.A.P.D. saying that they received calls of a rumble going on. Little did they know it was us men getting our asses handed to us by Camilla.

Feed back is greatly appreciated. How do you think it's going to end?

Big ups to Andy Reyes and Vitor Lindo for the behind the scenes help.

This girl is just all over the place with those damn prosthetics. Hmmmm. I am really starting to loose interest, gorgeous pictures but I am quickly getting over her. What do you guys thinks??

Dave Rapoza TMNT Fan Art

Dave Rapoza has some vivid visions of what Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle characters would look like if they were real. I'm a big enough fan to think of this same idea but not talented enough to make them look like this; Unless you like Ninja turtle stick figures drawn in crayon. This is what you get when you have the talent to bring those visions to life. These are some pretty darn realistic renditions, I dig them.
